Job Introduction

I am a male who is in my 40s and currently living in Barrow in Furness in Cumbria, which I love. I have a diagnosis of Mild learning disability alongside paranoid schizophrenia. I’m looking for support workers to join my team of staff, who can help me remain living independently within my own home.

Job Introduction

I really enjoy going out for walks and going out into the community. So, having support staff who enjoy walking and being out and about would be a huge bonus. I also love drawing and enjoy putting the drawings up in my house.

It’s important for staff to develop a good relationship with me and get to know me, so they can identify when I need their support. Sometimes I can let my schizophrenia get the best of me and when this happens, I need my support staff to reassure myself and make me feel safe. I sometimes struggle to show my emotions so again my staff need to be confident and help me express myself.
