Job Introduction

Female Team Leader - Mental Health

Exciting New opportunity

I am a young woman preparing to move into my own property in Oldham and need a female staff team who can support me to settle into my new home and help me to learn the skills I need to work towards living independently and feeling safe and secure in my own space.  It is important that staff who work with me have a good understanding of Personality Disorder, and have experience of working with individuals who may self-harm.  Experience or knowledge of DBT is also important and Gray Healthcare will offer training to ensure my team have a good understanding of this therapy as this has been very important in my recovery.

I need people around me that can help me develop coping strategies and boost my confidence, whilst supporting me to engage with my local community, and to continue to access education and training.  My relationship with my family and friends is also very important to me.

Our Approach

Here at Gray Healthcare we believe that no person should remain in an acute or long stay hospital environment for a day longer than is necessary. We do not discriminate with risk history; we work beyond the diagnosis and prioritise the individual and their right to live in the community. We are a company who are passionate about delivering truly person-centred support and are looking for a Support Worker who shares the same ethos. We are guided by our values in all that we do,

  • We are inspiring– we believe in providing individualised support that meets peoples’ needs and enables them to achieve their goals.
  • We collaborate– we believe that the best outcomes are achieved when we work together with shared aims.
  • We are unique– we provide market leading, high quality and bespoke support that exceeds standards.
  • We innovate– we challenge ourselves to be pioneering and find new ways to support people better.
  • We are honest & transparent– we base our relationships on trust and openness regardless of how uncomfortable this may be.

What are we looking for?

As a Team Leader within Gray Healthcare, you will lead your team to deliver outstanding care, assuring quality and safety. You will develop and review support plans playing an integral role in the evaluation of these with the MDT. You will be competent in IT systems; including electronic rostering and digital records. You will also spend time working on shift to develop trust and rapport with the person you support whilst leading by example.

The successful candidate will be providing direct management flexibly over a 24-hour period and providing quality assurance and full rota management ensuring safe, responsive and effective working practice. There is a requirement to work as part of his team and you may need to cover shifts at times to ensure that the young lady receives the prescribed levels of support.

You will lead and role model for his team, oversee the rota, assist with the development of support and recovery plans, ensure that the Recovery Model is embedded within the service in line with the lady’s strengths and areas identified for development, and report on progress, risks, challenges and successes to both internal and external MDTs.

You will need to be a natural leader with effective communication skills and possess an NVQ/QCF 3 in Health and Social Care.

You must have a working knowledge of the mental health recovery model, be experienced in positive risk taking to enable an increased level of independence and be solution focussed when presented with challenging situations.
